Fanime 2012 is coming near

Today's Wish: good food
Current Music on the Head:
Food in thought:  panda express’ honey glazed shrimpppp hummm
What did you do?:  woke up watched some crunchyroll and nagged my bro to help me change my bedsheets because it was all covered in my goodies

Hii! I’m feeling a little better nowadays, especially with listening to Akiko Shikata’s wonderful Ar Tonelico music.

Too Much Stuff?

mmmm soo my bro helped me out today, and I really did feel I have too many stuffs :( such material things….sure proves I’m some form of otaku. Waai~ I want more space T^T I want them in shelves instead of stacks, I want them organized. Sometimes I wish to sell them to get more space, but sometimes I don’t want to lose another beautiful work to another. *sigh* otaku indeed. I gotta clean my room someday x_x one of these days….

Artist Alley Table

Sooo… Fanime Artist alley table’s gonna go live on jan 28, I think I have to be around to do it myself and share it with a friend. But first I have to accomplish two things: One, Get myself a Temporary Seller’s Permit. Two, get myself registered for Fanime 2012. Definitely going to be busy this month.

Sketchbook

Well I’m not super really prepared for the Artist Alley, so I just decided I’d make a small booklet sketchbook to sell for that and do some commissions, I’m not super good anyways and not as active in DA to actually garner some…familiarity with other popular artists. What do you think? I’m working on something else, I just hope its good :D

Well it’s the middle of the day, a lot of things still in need of doing. See ya’s ^_^ and keep smiling.

First Post of Year 2012

Today's Wish: Good Night’s Sleep
Current Music on the Head:
Food in thought: Mushroom Skillet
What did you do?: Work, Ragnarok Online, watched CSI S10 Disc 3

Well Hello! Hello! I haven’t posted in a while, and a lot of things have quite piled up that I have the urge to share, because they are such wonderful memories.

As Fall arrived, everyone suddenly seems to have become busy, I have also become busy-er…lazy these past weeks. Been Just playing a lot of Video Games, more so with Ragnarok Online.

Aside from that, an incident that happened to me at my workplace got me feeling all sour, touchy and grumpy (who wouldn’t if someone stole your DS and embarrassed you in front of your other co-workers…that’s just not right. Just wanted to rant that statement out, its purely my opinion.)

So I decided that I should move my concentration somewhere else, because my other start-up hobbies went ‘flop’ (making handcrafted sleeves like vocaloid and selling them to conventions, getting japanese classes unfortunately work was very tight as of then :( so I couldn’t go through with it.) I came across an affordable pegbar for animation from Lightfoot Animation Supplies for $4.95 and that the pegbar holes would fit exactly from a 3 hole punch. How fun! So I went ahead and purchased it, it totaled at 13$ something together with shipping. I was so excited when I got it in the mail the next week. I was able to experiment. I bought myself a ream of paper and just started working on it when I’m not playing video games when I got  home.

Here are my tests:

I feel motivated enough working on these that I started borrowing tons of books about animation from the library, and I’ve gotten some more knowledge and insight in the correct ways of animation.

So now, when I’m free, little by little I’m going to work on this little project of mine, I won’t spoil anyone because it will be a very very short animation.

Fremont Holiday Faire

I was able to check it out this year, and its still as fun and enjoyable as ever coming from a mini-convention. I got myself a CLAMP Kiseki box colored red, and I got Hikaru, black mokona and another clamp character I don’t recognize as figurine chess pieces.

Birthday Lunch

Spent time with friends and family eating out <3 I had a lot of gifts, thank you everyone!

Drawing

I haven’t been drawing much lately :(

Under the Moonlight

The guild I belong to, Under the Moonlight finally hits its lowpoint, as wednesday War of Emperium activity has been cancelled until further notice, and from there I usually don’t play Saturday WoE because there’s no point in taking over a castle with the lack of attendance we’ve been getting just to be kicked if not targeted specifically just to prove that our guild is no longer as strong as it used to, not to mention it seems half of the guilld has already migrated into WoW. Its just sad, after all these years…I’m still going to stay, I love this guild.

OSU!

I came across a fun, free online rhythm game! Its exactly like Osu Tatakae Ouendan, except you can choose from a large variety of tracks to download and play from.

Jack and Jill

I watched Adam Sandler’s movie with dad, and I loved it! It has soo many silly scenes, inside jokes and fun! I Rate it:

Brother’s Home for the Holidays

:) Need I say more? Only thing I didn’t like was driving him around, but oh well, he got us yummy cakes for xmas <3

Collaboration Proposal

A collaboration was proposed between me, ratcabob and mysticeden to be submitted for this year’s BAAU down comic. We’re still in the process of brainstorming a story.

A Convention?

Me and my friends are brewing a convention, we’re still in the conversation and talks so far, It slowed down when December had hit but I hope it picks back up after all these holidays.

A Beta Test Invite

Around after Christmas, I was checking my e-mail when I got an invite to beta test Ragnarok Online 2 Legend of the Second, and I would have screamed and squealed so high if it wasn’t at my workplace. Soon as I got home, I confirmed if it was legit by checking it out from the forums, and it sure was! The download took an entire night and woke up around 5am just so that I can install it. Turns out that KRO was having problems letting foreigners into their game. Two days later, it was finally fixed and I was able to make an Archer and play with in in a little bit. I wasn’t able to fully play with it because I decided to skip a day to rest fully. Unfortunately the day after that was when they closed the beta testing. I’m sad, but at least I got to try it. I loved the music, they environment’s beautiful. The interface’s just hard to play, especially if its all in Korean x_X.

I think that’s it so far. Not been smiling as of late, Ill try :)

Belated Happy New Year to 2009!
Today's Wish:A good night's sleep

Food in thought: Tamarind Beef Stew
What did you do?: Played RO, watched some sort of Jackie Chan movie on local television, Did some grocery, cooked some sweet rice cake <3

Well well well, its been a while since I posted. Once again, A Belated Happy New Year to all. I have been pretty busy with work at the office during the holiday season, and I can finally breath a sigh of relief that it is over and done with and no longer in need of ranting about.

I've been doing a lot of stuffs lately, and I've almost forgotten that Fanime 2009 is almost here. I really really can't wait. I will have to do a lot of arrangements because of it. That means the BAUU Down 08 is almost on its due and deadline date for participating members. I'm afraid, this time I will not be submitting anything, so I would most likely be just helping out selling out comic books.

On to more news, I'm a year older and wiser now, and hopefully I've learned a lot of things form the year 2008. It was a very very memorable year. As for Christmas Gifts, I got one off my wishlist, I got a lightbox to work on! Now I can practice not only animation, but also make my linearts far more clean then they were before.

Ragnarok Online

As usually, my addiction to this amazing PC game never ends, as I finally Transcended my Hunter and turner her into a Sniper last Thursday. I am very happy with it, but It would have been more awesome if the color dye for Sniper remained the color Green. Oh well, you can't have everything ne?

Here's 2008 Screenshot Gallery

Dragon Ball: Origins

I've purchased a DS game from GameStop called Dragon Ball: Origins, and frankly for $19.99 its much more worth then it was priced at. The gameplay and story-menu-mode is set so you can always play the chapters you've passed thru again and again to acquire money, figures or special orbs that permit you to advance Son Goku's skills. The only thing I find annoying is that Bulma always gets ahead of you and often into trouble. You'll have to be up to your toes to keep up with her. The Graphics is well-rounded, and the comedy will crack you up so hard.
If you have a DS and you are a Dragon Ball series Fan, this is a must-buy for you.

My Rating:

Elite Beat Agents

I was browsing around GameStop when I found a used game of Elite Beat Agents. I knew it was a must-buy, so I bought it at around $16.99 and tried it out. True to what people rated it with, it is a fun, crazy and challenging game. It was very very different from other rhythm and music games like the Ontamarama I had. So yeah, believe what others say, that it's a rare game, I was lucky to have found it.

My Rating:

DeviantART News

I gave Karu and Pie Arashi a month's worth of DA subscription for them doing a request for me, which is a pretty cute illustration.

PIE VS KARU 2009 by =karuishikawa on deviantART

Enjoy your subscription you two :3

Style School 3

Aiya! I finally got my hands of the continuation of the Style School Series. This one had a very very gorgeous cover. And as usual it had good tips and tricks for any aspiring manga/anime illustrator out there like me, from photoshop, to copics, to toning and inking, and it includes a lot of different illustrations from all over japan, which might be considered to be a good reference material, if ever you're searchin for a particular style to acquire influence from.
A must buy if you can afford 16$+TAX

So there you go, I really had a busy month. Until we meet again, keep smiling ^__^

Halloween and zOMG!
Today's Wish:good night's sleep
Current Music on the Head: zOMG! background music
Food in thought: pizza
What did you do?: work, played zOMG!

Well well well, Halloween has come and gone, and it has been pretty eventful. People dressing up in the office, some kids trick or treating, lots of candies left behind. It was very very exciting indeed.

Ragnarok Online

For this year's halloween event, iRO implemented a funny quest, as well as 2x exp on premium and free servers.

The funny quest, required you to have 0% weight limit and no skills are permitted to be used inside. Once settled withe the weight terms, the event NPC would warp you to a Payon City full of zombies, starting with 1hp, a run-and-survive situation as you find which south gate lets you escape.

As for the exp event, I have made use of it to party with some guildmates and gain some experience to be nearer to the shininess called level 99. I've been playing all weekend nonstop, and it has been exhausting.

zOMG!

I was checking on my e-mails, when I noticed a Gaia Online announcement. zOMG! was finally open for beta stages to try out. It took a while to figure out how the game works and the intro to the game is always awesome to watch. However, it seems to be taking up too much of my graphics card. because I'm having slow movement and such.
But the quest and trick or treating is enjoyable! truly a flamboyant way of opening up the new MMO t the public.

SF Japantown Meet, Oct 26, 2008

Aiya!! another BAAU meet, pretty memorable and very worth the travel. I met two of the newest members of our sketchy group ^_^ Always a good sign that our community of artists with similar interest is never fresh out.

Link Plugness: BayAnime

I have some Halloween pictures, however I have not uploaded any yet. I will soon tho! so you'll get to see the wack photos I took.

Until then keep smiling!!

Change
Today's Wish: That our dreams will inevitably come true

Food in thought: Dinuguan (tagalog)
What did you do?:Work, and watched Change

Well well well, I missed last Sunday's post ne? I'm trying very hard to post it every sunday to at least make it weekly. But honestly, I'm very very tired. Work's been keeping me that way sadly :( I really need to plan some sort of vacation.

Well, in-between, I try my best to amuse myself, and listen to my favorite podcast.
Anime fans unite, please try to listen and enjoy to Ichigo and Battou's antics at Anime-Pulse

Change

From this podcast I was able to look-up this awesome JDrama, called Change from their Episode #144 at anime pulse. Its pretty inspiring, and so far I've only finished episode 5.
Ganbare! Change cast!

Its kinda awesome to see someone really try hard to convert hard-minded politicians, not to mention, getting under their skin. I wonder what will happen next?

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Meh, I watched it with friends, and honestly in my opinion, its not that much. I expected it to be like, the entire story of the clone wars. But I kinda discovered, that it was just an intro. Those with Cable TV rejoice, you'll be able to watch the continuation after this movie. Sucks that I don't have Cable TV, but its okay, I'm a picky person anyways. Music however, is pretty upbeat. As for the 3-D they look like 3-D meshes just added painted-style skin to :( not much, really looks flat in my opinion, but that's how they want it done, so be it.
My Critic:

Shameless Plugs and Linkness:

Mysoju: Change

"Can You Handle the Formless Darkness?"

Awareness Plugging

Favorite Anime Radio Station

Until then. keep on living and loving life. It'll always be bitter or sweet, just get it over and we won't have any more problems :) Good Night

GolfLand and More
Today's Wish: That we enjoy the BaauBQ today :D
Current Music on the Head: nada
Food in thought: BBQ
What did you do?: Not really what did I do, its still in the morning. I'm currently cooking the spaghetti noodles im supposed to bring for the BAAUBQ.

Meh, I forgot to update my blog again last week, or more like couldn't due to my brothers snogging my internet.

GolfLand

Anyways, last week me and my friends from work went to GolfLand as an alternative spot if ever one of my girlfriends invitation to her new co-workers fail. So yeah we ended up eating pizza first, then some arcade game and eventually played mini-golf. I learned that if you are going to play mini-golf, you'll have to be there more then an hour to play an 18 course game, but we chose 36 hole game >.<

Ragnarok Online

It seems, that after last Saturday's victory (Jul 12, 2008) that we acquired new guild members then before, and we all tried finishing the nameless quest after that said victory. Sadly I waited and waited and became sleepy that I had to log out. However, since this week still had its 2x EXP/item event, I joined in several evenings to head off to nameless island to gain exp. And yeah I just turned level 98 yesterday woohoo. But with the event almost ending and laziness creeping back, i believe wit will take a while for me to eventually reach level 99-Shiney.

Artbook?

I've been thinking of something to really really sell whenever i'm in conventions. And I've thought of a good idea to create a nice and small glossy artbook. Ill probably be working on it as much as I can, which might reduce my gaming time in Ragnarok Online. I don't really know, but It will probably not be finished in time for SiliCon.

Netflix Sometime Sucks

The one day i get to watch a netflix movie that I want (because dad owns it so he can get everything for himself =_=) was Appleseed:Deus Ex Machina, it had to be scratched. Really bummer. Can't even know what's happening in the middle of the story without the DVD stopping. I requested a replacement tho, and hopefully they send a new one this time.

Ponderings

I'm often a reflective person. But sometimes reflecting in the past does bring rather unpleasant memories, things that you've done before that you've learned from and shiver in embarrassment due to its pure stupidity or more of my lack of self-control. I do wonder if its ever going to leave me to myself and never haunt again. But hey, I suppose a human being, while growing up had a lot of experiences, that's why we are able to eventually become wise to some certain subjects when we eventually get over such phase. I guess our conscience and memories is a reminder of what we have done before, to remind us not to do it again. However, as some people say, History does repeats itself, in one way or another. We will never know when.

That's it for now :)

Fanime 2008
I am soo happy I've attended Fanime 2008. It has been a relieving experience. The only one i'll experience until next year.

I've finally finished posting my pics and vids up, come check it out :D
Fanime 2008 Pictures

*sigh* I wish it was all week, but we all know we'd be out of ideas, and money by then TAT

Okay some Highlights to tick off:
  • I saw old and new faces, really good to see people again, even though you don't personally know their names, where they're from, and what they're up to. It feels like an awesome method of uniting people of similar interests.
  • Me and my bro cosplayed for the first time. I went as a Ragnarok Online Ninja while my bro went as Red-Haired Shanks from One-Piece. Quite and experience i'll never forget to remember to keep your props secure or you'll lose them as soon as you leave the elevator of your Hotel room.
  • I discovered that the Swap Meet is the best place to get bargains. I was able to at least touch the Legendary Poring Mouse. I couldn't buy it because the owner was selling it for $100 TAT. One can also haggle prices, or it seems. I was able to haggle down Vol 1 and Vol 2 of Ragnarok Manhwa from 3$ each to 1$ each <3>
  • Karaoke room is awesome as usual. I heard people's different voices, whether it be just seconds late of lyrics or totally out of tune, it just feels so right to vent out your feelings into the song and release all the pressures of the world one has been holding onto for a year with songs.
  • I finally got to play with some people on my DS it was totally fun. Speaking of DS Games, the Dealers room had Japanese import games OMG I was sooooooooooooooooo happy, I didn't need to pay for the shipping fee <3<3>,<>
  • The Gaming Rooom, Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~~~~~!!! its the best!!! All the arcade games you can play all weekend nights looong!!! And the Console Gaming Center was more organized then last year, soo much better <3<3<3>
  • I finally got to meet the rest of the BAAU gang!! (BAY AREA ARTISTS UNITE) quite an experience to discover people from different lifestyles and own personalities. I was a little shy, but it all went alright. I tried helping sell our BAAU Down 7 debut manga :D Someone please buy our manga ^^ we still have around 300 copies more and also more of the previous issues. We were able to sell more then a hundred issues at the Artists Alley. We also had dinner at this Indian Resto called Tandoori, and since we got short of tables inside, we ate outside in the view of how San Jose evening Nightlife looks like. We also went up to the BAAU hotel room and talk about stuffs and more sales strategies. Quite an enchanted evening I had.
  • Anime Video Rooms, you gotta love them, was able to watch a couple of my fave animes, like Detective Conan, and Hellsing Ultimate, and glimpses of Dragon Ball Z, Rise of Broly, and Vampire Hunter D:Bloodlust.
  • Panels are as encouraging as ever, amusing as well. I didn't imagine that Jonathan Osborne's "Who's Line Is It?" Panel could be so hilarious plus the fact that it had audience participation and with Ebner leading the crowd (Vote for Ebner for next con President!!)
  • Photos Photos Photos!!! can't have enough of it but It can't be helped if we ran out batteries and memory, we knew such things would come, but it still came even if we were prepared *sigh*
  • Best stay ever at the San Jose Hilton Hotel, they made sure they clean our rooms every time we leave <3<3<3>
  • The cosplay gathering were sooo fun!!! but more fun was the appearance of Protestors. For some reason they just appeared in the front of the Convention Center with placards saying "Turn to Jesus or Burn in Hell" and other things. Either they mistook this Fanime Convention as some sort of Religious Congregations, or they just believe that Anime Fans are heretics to the Christian Religion. Either way, it is not something i'd like to force people to just change immediately and become instant Saints. They brought Evangelism to new heights, that they did, but it is sad to hear they think liking anime is a sin in itself. Anyways I heard the Jesus cosplayer came out during the incident due to the clamor of the anime crowd and went before these protestors and had fun taking pictures with them. Quite an amazing feat from what i've seen in the videos on Youtube.

*sigh* I wait next year's Fanime ^__^ Until then keep smiling.
