Dad's and Graduation Celebration
Today's Wish: Sleep Peacefully
Current Music on the Head: TRF - 02.My Revolution
Food in thought: Nothing atm..really
What did you do?: today? I went and treated dad to one free lunch to our favorite Japanese Fast Food Store, Bento Express, went by library, accompanied my bro in buying a pillow.

This week has been pretty hectic for me. Lack of Sleep. I don't know if its my fault or its my job's fault that I don't get any sleep, but yeah its been irregular since i began working. Maybe working and trying to catch up to game time isn't good. So yeah, ever since last week i've been sleeping 2 hours earlier before my usual bedtime (1am or 12am) and still last wednesday i felt so pooped that i just instantly fell asleep in my room at 9pm!! 9pm i tell you!! I really need something fixed. That would be my liefstyle, but how? Oh wells.

Yesterday was my younger brother's High School Graduation. 600+ students graduated..wow. The ceremony took a while from calling all the students' names, and it was very different from my own High School Graduation. Not much formalities o_o
Anyways dad treated us to our usual favorite chinese food buffet, called China China located at around Sunnyvale in the Alameda area. They still have the usual yummies <3 Ragnarok Online's War of Emperium yesterday sucked. I was the only one online in my guild, so I had to leave and temp at fellow alliance guilds. Eventually other guild members also went online to find themselves can be only counted by a hand's fingers and had also left and temped at other alliance guilds. The only fun part i had was defending the last 30 minutes of DeM's fort, curse enemy guilds ftw!!!!! yeah! I was able to defend it!! Never felt so useful in a guild :)

Don't Mess with the Zohan

OMG it is so hilarious. But it had issues for the conservative people, it contains visual nudity.
But nonetheless, it had a good story going with and a Happy ending ^^ even if what i've seen were stupid if not things that are just not possible to really do (if you did, your Social Life will die) Anyways those who know how to just enjoy the movie and toss the absurdities for the mere 2 hours the movie has, just go.

Then I finished on illustration i've had lying around in my computer that was long overdue. It felt so pretty after I added the final touches <3<3

What did you do?: the usual library route with a stop to Jamba Juice <3 style="font-weight: bold;">

Taiko No Tatsujin
I was able to purchase an original Taiko no Tatsujin Import from the dealer's room during Fanime from Japan Video Games. A really nice one indeed, pretty pricey but hey, Namco did not decide to bring it here to America and just translate it, so might as well buy it.

Its a really fun game, moreso when i asked a friend of mine to test out the multi player mode thru Wi-Fi with his cart. It works!! We were finally able to figure out the buttons under the wi-fi menu how those buttons work, even if I can't understand the characters. First button is the leader, and the second button is for players to come and join the leader :) With the multiplayer mode there's a questionmark note that when you hit on time pops a random effect for either yourself or your opponent. Really fun.

Oh and not to mention the 'daily letter challenge' or so what i can translate from my basic Nihongo, or 'Mainichi Tegameshi Gamu-' and whatever that last word means. it challenges you to play a certain song, the blue button is for practice, and the red button will be for the actual challenge itself. So in one day you will have to try and pass the daily challenge and the game will give you some sort of expertise rank that will be stuck under your name. oh and you can only have one music per day, after finishing that challenge that's when you'll move up to the next one. Once accomplished you receive a 'tegami' or letter next day in the mailbox with either a new song, sound effect, mode or accessories.

Just for plugging for those people who want to buy imported japanese games inside america I'm typing down Japan Video Game's Flyer here:

Summon Night:Twin Age

I was able to purchase the game last Wednesday. However, due to my recent lack of strength and vitality, I fell asleep and was only able to pop it into my DS last friday. And I was overwhelmed by the gorgeous graphics. Its may be Sprite-y but its well color coordinated.

The Initial reason why i bought this game in the first place was because of the boxart. I was able to recognize one of my favorite artist's signature drawing/coloring style, Sunaho Tobe.
Sure enough, when i checked her website, under her works section most recently was indeed this game i'm referring to. Secondly, I enjoyed the first Summon Night on the GBA and thought that it wouldn't hurt to see what's this baby's gonna look like. Indeed its as enjoyable as I have imagined it to be.

My observations from it is that it has a lot of menu's to take a look at, a huge skill tree and so on... Its like a mix of the palette and skill system from Ragnarok Online, the use of summon monsters [espers] from Final Fantasy: Revenant Wings, and the old Create Items and Upgrade Weapons system that was introduced in the Summon Night 2 GBA game. Pretty ingenious. Not to mention the loooooong conversations during cutscenes of events where you see the characters heads talk with balloons on top change expressions (kinda like how the new NPC's in Ragnarok Online's Recent Updates do)

So far, i'm really hooked into the cuteness. And I couldn't put down my DS while playing the game for hours and hours. Really worth it to play the game.

Aaaaaand back to life stuffs:

I've recently been trying to finish little by little all my unfinished works. Hopefully they are done in time to be sold as prints in SiliCon. I uploaded something new yesterday in my DeviantArt Gallery and hopefully you like it.

Fanime 2008
I am soo happy I've attended Fanime 2008. It has been a relieving experience. The only one i'll experience until next year.

I've finally finished posting my pics and vids up, come check it out :D
Fanime 2008 Pictures

*sigh* I wish it was all week, but we all know we'd be out of ideas, and money by then TAT

Okay some Highlights to tick off:
  • I saw old and new faces, really good to see people again, even though you don't personally know their names, where they're from, and what they're up to. It feels like an awesome method of uniting people of similar interests.
  • Me and my bro cosplayed for the first time. I went as a Ragnarok Online Ninja while my bro went as Red-Haired Shanks from One-Piece. Quite and experience i'll never forget to remember to keep your props secure or you'll lose them as soon as you leave the elevator of your Hotel room.
  • I discovered that the Swap Meet is the best place to get bargains. I was able to at least touch the Legendary Poring Mouse. I couldn't buy it because the owner was selling it for $100 TAT. One can also haggle prices, or it seems. I was able to haggle down Vol 1 and Vol 2 of Ragnarok Manhwa from 3$ each to 1$ each <3>
  • Karaoke room is awesome as usual. I heard people's different voices, whether it be just seconds late of lyrics or totally out of tune, it just feels so right to vent out your feelings into the song and release all the pressures of the world one has been holding onto for a year with songs.
  • I finally got to play with some people on my DS it was totally fun. Speaking of DS Games, the Dealers room had Japanese import games OMG I was sooooooooooooooooo happy, I didn't need to pay for the shipping fee <3<3>,<>
  • The Gaming Rooom, Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~~~~~!!! its the best!!! All the arcade games you can play all weekend nights looong!!! And the Console Gaming Center was more organized then last year, soo much better <3<3<3>
  • I finally got to meet the rest of the BAAU gang!! (BAY AREA ARTISTS UNITE) quite an experience to discover people from different lifestyles and own personalities. I was a little shy, but it all went alright. I tried helping sell our BAAU Down 7 debut manga :D Someone please buy our manga ^^ we still have around 300 copies more and also more of the previous issues. We were able to sell more then a hundred issues at the Artists Alley. We also had dinner at this Indian Resto called Tandoori, and since we got short of tables inside, we ate outside in the view of how San Jose evening Nightlife looks like. We also went up to the BAAU hotel room and talk about stuffs and more sales strategies. Quite an enchanted evening I had.
  • Anime Video Rooms, you gotta love them, was able to watch a couple of my fave animes, like Detective Conan, and Hellsing Ultimate, and glimpses of Dragon Ball Z, Rise of Broly, and Vampire Hunter D:Bloodlust.
  • Panels are as encouraging as ever, amusing as well. I didn't imagine that Jonathan Osborne's "Who's Line Is It?" Panel could be so hilarious plus the fact that it had audience participation and with Ebner leading the crowd (Vote for Ebner for next con President!!)
  • Photos Photos Photos!!! can't have enough of it but It can't be helped if we ran out batteries and memory, we knew such things would come, but it still came even if we were prepared *sigh*
  • Best stay ever at the San Jose Hilton Hotel, they made sure they clean our rooms every time we leave <3<3<3>
  • The cosplay gathering were sooo fun!!! but more fun was the appearance of Protestors. For some reason they just appeared in the front of the Convention Center with placards saying "Turn to Jesus or Burn in Hell" and other things. Either they mistook this Fanime Convention as some sort of Religious Congregations, or they just believe that Anime Fans are heretics to the Christian Religion. Either way, it is not something i'd like to force people to just change immediately and become instant Saints. They brought Evangelism to new heights, that they did, but it is sad to hear they think liking anime is a sin in itself. Anyways I heard the Jesus cosplayer came out during the incident due to the clamor of the anime crowd and went before these protestors and had fun taking pictures with them. Quite an amazing feat from what i've seen in the videos on Youtube.

*sigh* I wait next year's Fanime ^__^ Until then keep smiling.
